Rebatching Made Easy

Cold Process Soap

It has happened to the best of us. The best laid plans for a spectacular batch of soap. When we proudly scrape the remaining soap out of the soap pot and into the mold we notice that item sitting to the side that we forgot to include! Horrors! Sometimes is a key oil, sometimes it is the fragrance (believe it or not, this is my #1 boo boo!).

The cost of your ingredients initially flash through your brain. Then thoughts of ‘hmm, maybe it won’t matter… maybe no one will notice’. Reality sets in and then you just know there is no way around it. You have to rebatch this disaster in order to use it/sell it with good conscience. It might just be you just will not be beat by a batch of soap!

I struggled a long time with rebatching, as the ‘rustic’ look never satisfied me. The link below is a PDF with color photos showing how I do rebatch. The photos show how I even swirl my rebatched soap to have a product that is quite attractive. I hope it helps you salvage a few unintended soap outcomes and transform them into creations that look like you planned it that way from the start!
